Was ist richtig?
800 meter deap
Groß Vahlberg lies just two kilometres from the deteriorating Asse II nuclear waste repository in the northern Harz foothills. Opinions differ on the future of the nuclear facility, which is threatened by water infiltration.
The majority do not want to know anything about the issue. Some think it should have been sealed long ago, while others demand that the radioactive legacy be retrieved as quickly as possible and moved to a safe location.
What is the right thing to do? No one can answer that question. There is no trust. The issue is difficult to see through, as if veiled.
From 2017 to 2020, the artist looked beneath that veil and discovered a village where not everything revolves around Asse.
